Meeting the delegation from Finland

On March 21, 2025, Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF) welcomed a delegation from Finland to present study encouragement gifts to students.

The Finnish delegation was led by Mr. Rauno Tapani Karppinen – a forestry expert from the Finnish Food and Forest Development Agency (FFD), a partner of the VIE8701 and AIN8748 projects implemented by the Center for Climate Change Study in Central Vietnam (CCCSC).

On the HUAF side, the meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Van – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huu Ty – Head of the Department of Science, International Cooperation, and Library; Dr. Nguyen Tien Long – Deputy Head of the Department of Training and Student Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Phuong – Director of CCCSC, along with leaders from the Faculty of Forestry and the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science, as well as the university’s staff and students.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Van expressed his gratitude to the Finnish delegation and expressed his hope that in the future, the university’s staff and students would have more opportunities for cooperation and support from Finnish partners. Mr. Karppinen, who has over 10 years of collaboration with Vietnamese partners, has participated in many activities with CCCSC and the university. During this trip to Vietnam, Mr. Karppinen, along with his family and friends, used personal funds to donate four gifts to four students facing difficult circumstances but excelling in their studies, from the Faculty of Forestry and the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science.

After the meeting, the Finnish delegation visited and worked with the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science.
