Meeting with Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company

Representatives of HUAF participating in the meeting included: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thanh Duc – Rector of HUAF, Prof.Dr. Le Dinh Phung - Vice-Rector, leaders of functional departments, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Agronomy, and Center for Agricultural Research and Services.

On the side of Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company, there were: Mr. Nguyen Hong Lam - Chairman of the Board of Directors, and leaders in charge of business and production areas of Que Lam Group. In addition, there were representatives of leaders from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Science and Technology, the Sub-Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine, the Sub-Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Thua Thien Hue Province.
 

At the meeting, leaders of the two sides highly appreciated the initial results achieved after 1 year of implementing the cooperation agreement between HUAF and Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company. Specifically, HUAF assigned the Center for Agricultural Research and Services (under the Faculty of Agronomy) to directly implement the contents of cooperation in research, production, and consumption of organic agricultural products.

This year, HUAF has sent 10 officials to visit models of Que Lam in A Luoi district, 4F Livestock Area in Phong Thu commune, Phong Dien district. On a monthly basis, the University appoints staff together with the Group to organize training conferences and exchange experiences for many farmer households participating in the Group's linkage chain... Some models of organic agricultural production successfully implemented at the Center for Agricultural Research and Services such as the Organic corn growing model, organic soybean growing model, organic cassava growing model, and 4F organic pig raising model.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Lam frankly shared the difficulties and advantages in the process of researching and developing products of the Group. He believed that the "human" factor plays an extremely important role, thereby giving advice and experiences through his practice, focusing on the harmonious development between the economy, the community, and the environment. The Chairman of Que Lam Group also expressed his desire to have long-term cooperation with HUAF in the field of science and technology transfer in order to bring organic agriculture not only to national standards and towards international standards and certificates.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thanh Duc expressed his sincere thanks to Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company and government departments for their interest and support in recent years. After implementing the content of the cooperation agreement, HUAF has achieved some remarkable results, the implementation models have greatly supported the training work, improving the skills of students in order to improve the skills of students meeting labor market needs.  In particular, HUAF has 11 students who signed a contract to work with Que Lam Group. The image of HUAF has been spread to more known localities. He hoped that in the coming time, this cooperation would become more and more extensive in training, research, and transfer of science and technology.

This cooperation is not only a step forward in the field of developing clean and organic agriculture, but also affirms the role and position of the University as a place to train and provide quality and reliable human resources.
