Within the framework of the project “Emergency Support for Flood-Affected Communities in Thang An Commune, Da Nang City”, funded by the Embassy of Canada in Vietnam and implemented by the Center for Rural Development in Central Vietnam, University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University (HUAF), an emergency assistance program was promptly organized on December 16, 2025 to support local residents affected by flooding.
Attending the program were Mr. Jim Nickel – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Vietnam; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Duc – Rector of the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University; along with representatives of local authorities, the Center for Rural Development in Central Vietnam, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
During the program, many essential relief packages were directly delivered to households affected by the floods, helping local residents stabilize their daily lives and gradually overcome difficulties in the aftermath of the natural disaster. The activity not only carried profound humanitarian significance but also demonstrated a strong spirit of solidarity and community responsibility. At the same time, it reaffirmed the enduring international cooperation between Vietnam and Canada in the fields of development assistance and disaster response.
