Open Day 2026 – Experiential and Career Orientation Program for Students of Nguyen Du Secondary School

Attending the program from Nguyen Du Secondary School were Mr. Le Van Thuan – Vice Principal; teachers from the Natural Sciences Division; and 150 students.

On behalf of HUAF were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Van – Vice Rector and Head of the Organizing Committee; representatives of faculty leadership and functional departments; as well as staff and lecturers supporting admissions and counseling activities.

This marked the first time HUAF hosted lower secondary school students for a campus visit and experiential program. The initiative aimed to provide students with early exposure to the university environment, introduce academic majors, facilities, and teaching–research activities, and thereby contribute to their future career orientation.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Van – Vice Rector of HUAF – emphasized: “The experiential and career orientation program for students of Nguyen Du Secondary School is the first initiative in which the University welcomes lower secondary school students to campus. This meaningful activity reflects the University’s commitment to accompanying, supporting, and guiding students from an early stage, helping them gain information, motivation, and necessary preparation for their future educational pathways.”

Representing Nguyen Du Secondary School, Mr. Le Van Thuan – Vice Principal – expressed sincere appreciation to the University for organizing a meaningful and practical experiential and career guidance program. He noted that the activity provided students with valuable opportunities to experience the university environment firsthand, broaden their knowledge, and form initial awareness of academic disciplines and career pathways.

Through campus tours, introductions to academic programs, and direct interactions with lecturers and advisors, students were able to gain insights that would help them feel more confident in choosing educational directions aligned with their abilities and interests. He also expressed hope that the two institutions would continue strengthening cooperation and organizing more experiential and career-oriented activities in the future.

At the program, the admissions counseling and introduction of HUAF’s academic majors, presented by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy An – Specialist of the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Services and Standing Member of the Admissions Advisory Board – created an engaging and lively atmosphere in the auditorium. The interactive Q&A session demonstrated the students’ genuine interest and thoughtful inquiries about the University.

Students Receiving Gifts from HUAF

As part of the program, students from Nguyen Du Secondary School toured the campus, visited academic faculties and laboratories, and participated in experiential activities, exchanges, and career counseling sessions with HUAF lecturers and staff.

Through Open Day 2026, the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University aims to strengthen connections with lower secondary schools, disseminate information about higher education, and lay the foundation for effective career orientation and academic pathway guidance in the coming years.
