Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa - Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy, HUAF, excellently received the 2023 Kovalevskaia Award

The Kovalevskaia Award is an international award for outstanding female scientists in the field of research and application of science and technology, especially natural science - a field that plays a key role in the knowledge economy. The Kovalevskaia Award named after Russian mathematician Sophia Kovalevskaia began to be awarded in Vietnam in 1985. This is an annual award given to female scientific groups and individuals who have outstanding achievements in research and application of science to real life, bringing many benefits in economic and social fields.

This is a testament to Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa's great and tireless contributions over more than 28 years of dedication to science. She has published 148 scientific articles in prestigious domestic and international journals, including 19 articles in ISI/Scopus magazine. With 92 articles as main author, including 12 ISI/Scopus articles, Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa has affirmed her position in the domestic and international scientific community. In addition, she has chaired many highly applicable projects and topics, specifically, she has 06 science and technology transfer and consulting contracts, 2 patents for useful solutions on: Production process Organic fertilizer from livestock waste after biogas composting and Process for producing biological foliar fertilizer from aquatic plants.

The main research direction that Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa is pursuing sustainable integrated soil and crop nutrition management. In particular, the focus area is researching soil fertility and building processes for producing and using fertilizers for crops in the Central region. She also focuses on applying non-chemical measures to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, solving agricultural product safety issues and the effects of climate change in crop production.

Regarding training, Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa has guided many female students, trainees, and PhD candidates. She regularly participates in training for many female farmers in central regions, especially ethnic minorities related to her field of expertise.

Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa has been awarded 9 national and provincial awards for research projects and has received many emulation and commendation titles such as ministerial-level emulation fighter and certificates of merit from the Prime Minister., certificate of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, certificate of merit from the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province. Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa is also the head of the Soil Science Association of HUAF, and member of the Executive Committee of the Women's Intellectual Association of Thua Thien Hue province.

Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa has contributed to arousing the passion for scientific research, science and technology transfer and product commercialization for female lecturers. She always wants to bring young lecturers in the Faculty of Agronomy and HUAF has the best scientific research opportunities, and continuously strives to transfer scientific and technological products into practice, helping to produce better crops and protect the ecological environment.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa is an example of enthusiasm and passion for scientific research for generations of lecturers and students of the Faculty of Agronomy in particular and HUAF in general to follow. She always strives to contribute to the cause of education and scientific research, contributing to the development of the Faculty of Agronomy and HUAF.
