Seminar on “Disaster Risk Reduction in Vietnam: 20 Years Review” on the occasion of 20 years of cooperation between Kyoto University and Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry
On 16th September, the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University (HUAF) organized a seminar on “Disaster Risk Reduction in Vietnam: 20 Years Review” on the occasion of 20 years of cooperation between Kyoto University and HUAF.
The participants attended the seminar including Professor Rajib Shaw from Kyoto University; professors, associate professors, leaders and former leaders from HUAF who are the first lecturers to lay the foundation for the bilateral cooperation between Kyoto University, Japan and HUAF, Vietnam. A lot of projects towards community based - development and disaster management have been implemented. Many lecturers, staff and students of both universities, therefore, have participated in short-term and long-term courses over the past 20 years.
In addition, the seminar attracted experts, scientists, former students and students of Kyoto University on disaster management from many agencies and organizations in the country such as Vietnam Institute of Urban and Rural Planning; Institute of Environment and Ecology; Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; Danang University and so on. This is a good opportunity for scientists to share and discuss the issues related to management
