The event provided Lao students with an overview of HUAF’s academic majors, training programs, and career pathways, while also offering hands-on experiences with the University’s learning environment, facilities, laboratories, and practical training models. In addition, students had the opportunity to directly interact with lecturers and academic advisors to discuss questions related to study plans, research opportunities, and post-graduation employment prospects.
Program Overview
Attending the program from Hue College were Mr. Ngo Si Cac – Vice Rector – along with 100 Lao students from the K49 Vietnamese language cohort.
Representing HUAF were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Van – Vice Rector and Head of the Organizing Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Duc – Head of the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Services; representatives of faculty leadership and functional departments; as well as staff and lecturers supporting admissions and student counseling activities.
In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Van emphasized the significance of experiential and career counseling activities for Lao international students, highlighting this as an important opportunity for students to gain a clearer understanding of their chosen majors, define their academic goals, and establish appropriate career orientations for the future. He affirmed that HUAF consistently pays close attention to creating favorable conditions for Lao students to study, train, and develop comprehensively, while encouraging them to be proactive, confident, and active in academic and cultural integration.

Within the framework of the event, an alumni representative, Mr. Kongvilay Sayasane, M.A. – Vice Rector of Sekong Provincial Vocational College (Lao PDR), who is currently pursuing further studies at HUAF – shared his practical experiences in studying and conducting research at the University. He expressed his sincere appreciation for the support and guidance from the University’s Board of Rectors, lecturers, and staff, affirming that HUAF’s friendly learning environment, modern facilities, and favorable research conditions have motivated Lao students to focus on their studies, strive for academic excellence, and enhance their professional competencies. He also encouraged K49 Lao students to confidently choose suitable majors, take initiative in their studies, and actively integrate to achieve future success.

Through this activity, HUAF reaffirmed its commitment to accompanying and supporting Lao international students in selecting appropriate academic majors and developing their personal strengths. The program also contributed to fostering the traditional friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, while strengthening and expanding cooperative relations between HUAF and Hue College toward long-term collaboration in training and research.
