Thematic Conference on Science, Technology, and International Cooperation Development for the Period 2025–2030

The conference was attended by representatives from Hue University, including Mr. Phan Minh Huan – Deputy Chief of the Office of the Party Committee, Council, and Training, and Mr. Tran Van Giang – Head of the Department of Science, Technology, and International Relations. From HUAF, attendees included Mr. Le Dinh Phung – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Mr. Tran Thanh Duc – Deputy Secretary, Rector; Mr. Nguyen Huu Van – Vice Rector; Mr. Pham Huu Ty – Head of the Office of Science, International Cooperation, and Library; members of the Party Committee; secretaries and deputy secretaries of sub-party cells; faculty deans and vice deans; scientific assistants; department heads; directors of faculty centers; the Director of the Institute for Research and Development; directors and deputy directors of university centers; leaders of university and Hue University-level research groups; and professors, associate professors, and doctors from across the institution.
   
The overall goal of the conference was to realize the university’s vision and mission in science and technology activities—focusing on research that generates advanced and effective scientific-technological products to promote agricultural and rural development in the Central and Central Highlands regions and nationwide, in line with integration and development trends. The university aims to become one of Vietnam’s leading research-oriented universities in the fields of agriculture and rural development.
 
During the conference, participants engaged in focused discussions on five key topics:
 
1. Enhancing the university’s academic reputation and brand identity;
2. Strengthening high-quality training and scientific research capacity;
3. Increasing community engagement and service value;
4. Improving facilities and equipment for management, education, and research;
5. Promoting institutional autonomy, with an emphasis on financial self-reliance through scientific and international cooperation activities.
   
Numerous discussions and exchanges took place, proposing practical and feasible solutions to strengthen HUAF’s position as a leading center for research and innovation in the fields of agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, and environment in the Central and Central Highlands regions and across Vietnam. In his concluding remarks, Mr. Le Dinh Phung – Secretary of the Party Committee, emphasized: “The period 2025–2030 will be a crucial turning point that demands strong innovation in scientific research, international cooperation, and technology transfer. The university is determined to implement breakthrough solutions, leverage internal strengths, and expand cooperation with domestic and international partners to elevate science, technology, and innovation activities to a new height.”
 
The thematic conference provided a meaningful academic forum, making an important contribution to strategic planning and reaffirming Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry’s commitment to sustainable development in the period 2025–2030.
