Strengthening scientific research cooperation and technology transfer between HUAF and the People's Committee of Hue City

Attending the meeting from the People's Committee of Hue City were Mr. Hoàng Hải Minh – Vice Chairman, along with leaders from various departments, sectors, and localities. From HUAF, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Thanh Đức – Rector; Prof. Dr. Lê Đình Phùng – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hữu Văn – Vice Rector, along with leaders of affiliated units and scientists.

 

 

During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phạm Hữu Tỵ – Head of the Department of Science, International Cooperation & Technology Transfer reported on the cooperation results between HUAF and Hue City for the period 2025 – 2030.
 
In the report, a representative from the Department of Agriculture and Environment stated that since 2018, HUAF has participated in and led 28 out of 90 scientific and technological projects in Hue City. These projects have contributed to: (1) Developing urban agriculture and agricultural production, (2) Applying technical advances and transferring technology to support production, and (3) Improving productivity, product quality, and enhancing the environment and livelihoods.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Hoàng Hải Minh highly appreciated the contributions of HUAF in developing agriculture, the environment, and especially projects aimed at improving livelihoods and applying science and technology in production practices and environmental management in Hue City over the past time. He also directed departments, sectors, and local authorities to proactively coordinate closely with HUAF to effectively implement the agreed cooperation contents.

On behalf of HUAF's leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Thanh Đức shared that the university always considers its cooperative relationship with the People's Committee of Hue City as an important and meaningful task in its development strategy. Specifically, the two sides have had many effective collaborations over the past years. This cooperation not only focuses on scientific and technological fields but also emphasizes training high-quality human resources to serve the locality, thereby contributing to socio-economic development. However, in recent times, the cooperation process has faced some difficulties, such as some research projects that, despite yielding good results and high applicability, have not yet connected with businesses or attracted their participation in commercializing research results. He expressed hope that through today's meeting, the two sides would establish more effective and broader cooperative relationships, contributing to the overall development of Hue City.

 
At the meeting, the two sides agreed on several key cooperation contents for the near future, such as: (1) Developing organic, circular, and smart agriculture towards sustainable agriculture that adapts to climate change; (2) Applying high technology, digital technology, and artificial intelligence in production and management; (3) Tracing the origin and commercializing agricultural products, linking with value chains; (4) Training, fostering, and developing high-quality human resources to serve the locality; (5) Consulting on policy building, planning, and mechanisms for developing agriculture, the environment, and land resources; and (6) Building demonstration models, connecting businesses and communities.

The meeting took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, achieving a high consensus on the direction of coordinating the implementation of activities.
