Meeting with Office of Medical Committee of Netherlands - Vietnam (MCNV)
On March 14, 2018, Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF) had a meeting with Office of Medical Committee of Netherlands - Vietnam (MCNV). Attending and welcoming the delegation were Assoc. Prof.Dr Phung Thang Long - Vice Rector of HUAF, leaders and lecturers of faculties such as faculty of Agronomy, faculty of Extension and Rural Development and faculty of Engineering and Food Technology.
At the meeting, the delegation wished that HUAF would share information and exchange experiences as well as cooperative orientation in proposing ideas for some projects on improving the value chain of dragon fruits. These initiatives are expected to be implemented in Quang Tri, Binh Thuan and Vinh Long provinces. It is known that Binh Thuan and Vinh Long provinces are famous for dragon fruits. In addition, Quang Tri province is regarded as a potential province to develop and participate in the global value chain of dragon fruits.
After that, HUAF’s leaders shared information on the topics related to cultivation, harvesting and post-harvesting, as well as technological solutions, preserving dragon fruits in the past.
Next, the Office of Medical Committee of Netherlands - Vietnam briefly introduced the potential for cooperation in improving the value chain of dragon fruits, project packages, researches, testing, harvesting and post harvesting, seeking funds, project partners, and so on.
During the meeting, the two sides will keep discussing and exchanging information on the development and cooperation for potential projects in the future.
