The workshop aimed to enhance information exchange, share practical experiences in animal disease prevention and control, and promote the application of sustainable treatment solutions to reduce antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in livestock production.
The workshop was attended by representatives of veterinary management agencies from central provinces, including:

Representing the co-organizing partner Green Group, the workshop welcomed Mr. Le Minh Thanh, Director of the Human Resources – Administration – Legal Affairs Division, and Mr. Le Ba Hiep, Director of the Technical and Product Development Division, along with customers and livestock farm owners in the region.
On behalf of the University of Agriculture and Forestry, participants included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Van, Vice President of Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Dung, Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine; together with faculty members, staff, and students of the Faculty.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Dung, Dean of the Faculty of ASVM, emphasized that antimicrobial resistance in livestock and veterinary medicine has become a global issue, directly affecting animal health, human health, and the environment. He highlighted that the workshop served as an important forum for scientists, policymakers, and enterprises to exchange research findings, share practical experiences, and propose alternative solutions to reduce antibiotic use in livestock production in a sustainable manner.

At the workshop, various presentations were delivered, including: an overview of livestock production and animal disease situations in the South Central region; antimicrobial resistance in livestock production from the perspective of Green Group; and the use of medicinal herbs in livestock production, along with research outcomes from the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.
Key topics discussed focused on:
(1) The overall situation of animal diseases in Central Vietnam;
(2) The current status of antimicrobial resistance in livestock production;
(3) Consequences and challenges in controlling antimicrobial-resistant bacteria;
(4) Alternative solutions to antibiotics, such as probiotics, herbal products, and vaccines;
(5) Sustainable development orientations, including awareness raising, strengthened research, and low-antibiotic livestock production models;
(6) Discussion, experience sharing, and collaboration networking.
The workshop provided an effective platform to strengthen linkages among scientists, management agencies, and enterprises, contributing to the identification of new approaches to mitigate antimicrobial resistance, protect public health, and promote the sustainable development of the livestock sector in Central Vietnam.
