The delegation of the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam included: Canadian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Shawn Steil, Ms. Leigh McCumber - Political and Cultural Information Counselor; Ms. Vu Tuyet Trang - Communications Officer. This was Mr. Shawn Steil's first visit as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Vietnam to HUAF.

At the meeting, on behalf of HUAF, Associate Professor, PhD. Tran Thanh Duc, sent a warm welcome to the Ambassador and the delegation and informed about some important activities of HUAF in recent times, especially emphasizing the cooperation activities between HUAF and partners from Canada.

Mr. Shawn Steil expressed his thanks for HUAF's warm welcome. The Ambassador highly appreciated the results that (CRD) had achieved in previous projects funded by the Canadian Government. Currently, CRD is implementing the project SOGIE on prevention of discrimination and violence based on sexual orientation and gender identity in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province sponsored by the Canadian Embassy through Canada Foundation for Local Initiatives.
