The conference aimed to provide a platform for sharing knowledge, research findings, and practical experiences in the field of biological protection worldwide; to exchange results and applications of biological control of crop pests; and to highlight achievements in sustainable agricultural production adapted to climate change. The event was also part of the series of activities celebrating the 60th anniversary of the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University (1967–2027).
Overview of the Conference
Attending the conference were distinguished guests and representatives from various institutions. From the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD), there was Dr. Roger Francois – Regional Director, along with representatives from the College of Agriculture, Can Tho University; the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Ho Chi Minh City; the Vietnam National University of Agriculture; Tay Nguyen University; and the Plant Protection Research Institute.
From the University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF), Hue University, attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Duc – Rector and Head of the Steering Committee; Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa – Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy and Head of the Organizing Committee; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huu Ty – Head of the Office of Science, International Cooperation and Library Information, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, together with faculty members and staff interested in the field.
The conference was also honored to receive valuable support and participation from its sponsors and partners, including CIRAD (France); Hue University; the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University; the France–Vietnam Innovation Program 2025–2026; the French Embassy in Vietnam; Dalat Hasfarm Co., Ltd.; and Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC).
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Duc, Rector of the University, expressed his honor in welcoming distinguished guests, speakers, scientists, and students to the Second International Conference on Biological Protection in Sustainable Agriculture (ICBPSA 2025), themed “Application of Biological Protection in Climate-Resilient Agriculture.”
He emphasized that the conference serves as an important platform for sharing research, exchanging ideas, and fostering international collaboration, with the valuable support of CIRAD, partner institutions, and sponsors. He also expressed his hope that the conference would bring significant scientific value, inspire new research directions, and make practical contributions to building a greener and more sustainable agricultural future.

Also at the conference, Dr. Roger Francois – Regional Director of CIRAD – expressed his sincere appreciation to the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University, for co-organizing the Second International Conference on Biological Protection in Sustainable Agriculture. He emphasized that this event provided a valuable opportunity for scientists, researchers, and students to exchange ideas and share the latest research findings, aiming toward green and climate-resilient agricultural solutions.
He affirmed his belief that through close collaboration among organizations, universities, and the international scientific community, the conference would open new directions and make meaningful contributions to the sustainable development of agriculture not only in Vietnam but also globally.

At the conference, speakers presented and discussed four main topics:
- Environment-Friendly Plant Protection Solutions;
- Biotechnology and Plant Breeding in Plant Protection Adapted to Climate Change;
- Integrated Plant Health Management (IPHM);
- Agricultural Bio-products.
As part of the conference program, participants also took part in a field trip to Huong An Ward and Quang Dien Commune.
The Second International Conference on Biological Protection in Sustainable Agriculture (ICBPSA 2025) concluded successfully, opening up new opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and research orientation. The conference not only served as a platform for academic exchange but also contributed to strengthening the network among scientists, educational institutions, research institutes, enterprises, and policymakers. It marked an important step toward fostering multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder connections in the agricultural field, laying a solid foundation for the development of green, smart, and climate-resilient agriculture in the future.
