On September 11, 2017, the delegations of Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum University, Cambodia, led by Mr. Pin Vannaro- President of Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum University, paid a working visit to Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF).

Attending the meeting consisted of Assoc.Prof.Dr Phung Thang Long - Vice Rector of HUAF; leader of Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation; leaders from Faculty of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Agronomy.

Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum University is located in Thbongkhmum Province, Cambodia was established on February 11, 2016 by Cambodian Prime Minister. The university specializes in teaching young people who do not have access to higher education. The university also seeks to train a new generation of leaders free from the stress and legacies of Cambodia’ recent history. In addition, the university is a public higher education institution administered by the Ministry of Education of the Royal Government of Cambodia. The university’s vision is to become the leading educational training center in science and development in Cambodia. Furthermore, the university also has cooperative relations with international organizations, including Vietnam, through the implementation of climate change projects.

At the meeting, representatives of two universities briefly introduced about the history and development of the two sides in turn. According to Mr. Pin Vannaro- President of Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum University, as Thbongkhmum University was established, HUAF was known as a long-standing university with its history of formation and development, thus, the delegations would like to listen the educational activities (such as undergraduate and graduate training activities) from leaders of HUAF, especially the process of seeking investment, cooperation, sponsorship of domestic and foreign organizations and institutions of HUAF so that Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum university could consider and learn. Based on the experiences in reality, the leaders of HUAF shared a lot of information since the university had many difficulties until they have achieved remarkable results in education, scientific research and international relations as currently.

Next, the leaders of the two universities discussed the terms of the agreement in the educational cooperation program (such as the international student exchange program), scientific research of the two sides before signing of the agreement memorandum of cooperation between the two universities.

On this occasion, the delegations of Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum University would visit the Center for Animal Science & Veterinary Medicine at Thuy An Commune, Hue city and the Center for Forestry at Huong Van Ward, Huong Tra town. These are the research centers of HUAF for staff and students to study, practice, located outside the university.

On September 12, 2017, HUAF and Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum University, Cambodia carried on signing a memorandum of cooperation in accordance with the terms of the signed agreement of the two parties in related fields.
