14. Application of scientific research works in reality
 
Dr. Ngo Tung Duc got his Ph.D. in natural resource management in 2011 from Kyoto University, Japan. For doctoral thesis, with his multidisciplinary background, he promoted an integrated approach of common pool resource management, in general and community forest management, in particular which focuses not only on structural measures but also on non-structural measures. So far, besides teaching the forest ecology and sylviculture treatment subjects for undergraduate students and master students, he carried out many researches and worked as consultant for several projects that related to upland sustainable development, sustainable management of natural resources, social forestry, and environmental management.

  • From 2006 – 2009: “Enhancing Community Resilience and Livelihood Security to Cope with Natural Disasters in Central Vietnam”, supported by JICA, in collaboration with Kyoto University.
  • From 2010 – 2013: “Integrated Approach to the Vulnerable People to Cope with Natural Disasters in Central Vietnam” supported by JICA in collaboration with Kyoto University.
  • From 2013 – 2016: A multi-site research initiative to reduce malnutrition through  nutrition-sensitive agriculture solutions, supported by IDRC.
