Overview of the working session
The meeting was attended by Mr. Tran Anh Dong and experts from CAS; Prof. Dr. Tran Dang Hoa, Vice President of Hue University and an expert in low-emission rice cultivation; and representatives from HUAF, including Prof. Dr. Le Dinh Phung, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huu Ty, Head of the Department of Science, Technology, International Cooperation and Library Information; and representatives of relevant faculties and departments.
The CAS delegation
At Huong Tra Ward and the Huong Van Practice Center, the delegation surveyed the existing infrastructure, available land, experimental production systems, and other conditions supporting research activities. The two sides discussed the potential for developing circular agriculture models that make effective use of available resources while integrating solar energy systems to supply electricity to research, production, and practical training areas. These solutions are expected to help reduce operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions while contributing to the development of a green and environmentally friendly campus.
The CAS delegation also shared practical experience in developing low-emission agriculture, particularly solutions for low-emission rice cultivation and the management and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in agricultural production. These approaches align with current trends toward green agriculture, a circular economy, and the transition to clean energy.
Prof. Dr. Tran Dang Hoa, Vice President of Hue University, speaking at the meeting
Following the field survey, the two sides held a working session at HUAF. Based on the survey findings, the University’s leadership and CAS discussed potential areas of collaboration in the coming period, focusing on research and implementation of circular agriculture models; the application of solar power systems on the HUAF campus and at the Huong Van Practice and Internship Center; the development of demonstration models for research, education, and technology transfer; and opportunities for students to undertake internships and gain practical experience at the company.
Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Le Dinh Phung, Rector of HUAF, affirmed that the University places strong emphasis on expanding partnerships with businesses in order to leverage its strengths in education and training, scientific research, and innovation. Such partnerships, he noted, contribute to advancing sustainable development and the green transition while improving the quality of human resources.
Prof. Dr. Le Dinh Phung, Rector of HUAF
Mr. Tran Anh Dong, representing CAS, expressed his appreciation for HUAF’s infrastructure, expert resources, and development orientations. He also expressed CAS’s willingness to work with the University to develop practical cooperation models that promote the application of renewable energy and circular agriculture in the coming period.
Mr. Tran Anh Dong, representative of CAS
The field survey and working session opened up promising opportunities for cooperation between HUAF and CAS, with a focus on developing research, training, and demonstration models in circular agriculture, green energy, and low-emission agriculture. These collaborative initiatives are expected to contribute to the University’s sustainable development goals and create positive impacts for the wider community.
