On October 10, 2017, the Royal Academy of Agriculture, Cambodia visited and worked with Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF).

At the meeting, Dr. Phung Thang Long - Vice Rector of HUAF along with the leader of Science, Technology and International Cooperation Department and lecturers of  Agronomy and Fisheries Faculties warmly welcomed the delegation of  the Royal Academy of Agriculture, Cambodia to HUAF.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr Phung Thang Long said: “Through the meeting, staff of the Royal Academy of Agriculture, Cambodia will have an opportunity to learn about the research results conducted by researchers of HUAF as well as HUAF’s experiences in technology transfer and application to practical production”.

At the meeting, the delegation of  the Royal Academy of Agriculture, Cambodia was introduced some researches on salt and drought tolerance rice varieties in Central Vietnam and applications in response to climate change in Vietnam from researchers of HUAF. This was the occasion for the delegation of the Royal Academy of Agriculture, Cambodia to visit and learn in Vietnam, as well as in HUAF. This would boost the capacity of faculty members of Academy to develop, support and undertake applied research for agricultural extension. Moreover, this was also a good chance for them to learn about accessing to finance for agricultural investment in Vietnam as well as to apply in Cambodia in the forthcoming time.

It is known that improving the performance of the agricultural sector through vocational training is a priority for the development of the Cambodian Government and donors. To innovate and enhance the resilience to climate change in Cambodia's agriculture in providing with agricultural extension services to support agricultural producers, Vietnam is seen as a typical example of a wide range of agricultural research activities implemented by a number of agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and a pioneer in the development of climate smart agriculture –CSA. In addition, Vietnam directly links to research and extension programs, and climate change policies, both greenhouse gas adaptation and mitigation.
