From December 8 to 12, 2025, the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University (HUAF) organized a Training Seminar on Applied Multivariate Statistical Analysis, chaired by Prof. Dr. Le Dinh Phung – Chairman of the University Council. The program was conducted with the participation and academic support of Prof. Eddie Schrevens from KU Leuven University, Kingdom of Belgium.

KU Leuven is one of Europe’s leading research-intensive universities. Prof. Eddie Schrevens specializes in statistical analysis, experimental design, and the application of statistics in agricultural, environmental, and multivariate data sciences. He is a key member of the MeBioS Biostatistics Group at KU Leuven, which focuses on research using statistics and optimization in biological systems, agriculture, the environment, food technology, and related fields.
The seminar attracted a large number of faculty members and learners from the University of Agriculture and Forestry as well as other member units of Hue University, including the University of Economics, the International School, and several related faculties and institutes. The strong interest from participants reflected the growing demand for enhanced data analysis capacity in the context of research and education increasingly driven by quantitative evidence.
Throughout the training program, participants were introduced to the core principles of multivariate statistical analysis, a field that enables the simultaneous analysis of multiple variables to develop evaluation models, clustering methods, predictive tools, and to identify complex relationships within research data. These contents provided practical and meaningful support for the scientific research activities of faculty members and learners at the University.
The seminar concluded with highly positive feedback and opened up opportunities for deeper collaboration between the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University, and KU Leuven University in the future. The program made an important contribution to enhancing research capacity, innovating teaching methodologies, and promoting the University’s international integration.
