Talkshow “The Rise of Agriculture Era and Launch of the Sixth Science Innovation and Agricultural Startup Idea Contest – 2025”

On April 5, 2025, Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF) and the Faculty of Agronomy jointly organized the talkshow titled "The Rise of Agriculture Era and Launch of the Sixth Science Innovation and Agricultural Startup Idea Contest – 2025".
The Talkshow welcomed several guest speakers:
(1) Ms. Pham Thi An – Founder/CEO of Hong An Trading & Manufacturing Co., Ltd., an alumnus of Plant Protection Class 46, Faculty of Agronomy, HUAF;
(2) Mr. Luu Lap Duc – Deputy Head of the National Luong Dinh Cua Network;
(3) Ms. Nguyen Ngoc – Director of Yen Ngoc Media Co., Ltd., Ho Chi Minh City.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa – Dean of Faculty of Agronomy;
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Gia Hung – Deputy Dean of Faculty of Rural Development;
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hoang Dong – Head of Plant Protection Department;
Faculty members of the Faculty of Agronomy;
Lecturers teaching the “Entrepreneurship and Innovation” course;
And nearly 350 students in attendance.
In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Van – Vice Rector of HUAF – expressed his joy in welcoming the distinguished guest speakers. He emphasized that the inspiring stories and valuable experiences shared by the speakers on their entrepreneurial journeys would serve as a powerful source of motivation for the students. He also highlighted that the knowledge and expertise provided, along with the importance of the “Entrepreneurship and Innovation” course, would form a solid foundation for students to enhance their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in the agricultural sector. This talkshow offered a great opportunity for students to learn, connect, and develop meaningful ideas that could contribute to Vietnam’s agriculture, as well as support the university’s ongoing startup competition.

The objectives of the talkshow were:
(1) To ignite creative potential: encouraging new initiatives in science and technology serving the agricultural sector;
(2) To create entrepreneurial opportunities: supporting students passionate about agricultural entrepreneurship to develop and realize their ideas;
(3) To share in-depth knowledge: providing updated information and trends in agriculture and emerging technologies applied in agricultural production.
During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hoang Dong, representing the group of lecturers teaching the “Entrepreneurship and Innovation” course, introduced the 6th “Science Innovation and Agricultural Startup Idea Contest – 2025” initiated by HUAF to the students. This competition serves as a major opportunity for individuals, organizations, research groups, and startups in the agricultural field to present their innovative ideas. Outstanding ideas will receive financial, technical, and networking support to turn their projects into reality.

The guest speakers also focused on key topics such as: the startup journey from ideas to business establishment; the Luong Dinh Cua network and agricultural startup opportunities; and the application of AI in Agricultural Digital Transformation – Smart Technology for Modern Agriculture. The talkshow was vibrant and interactive, with enthusiastic questions and discussions between students and the guest speakers.
It is hoped that this talkshow will serve as a bridge connecting scientists, entrepreneurs, students, and agricultural enthusiasts, fostering strong development in the agricultural sector.
