On March 2, 2017, Prof. Rene Boot - General Director of Tropenbos International (TBI) and Mr. Tran Huu Nghi - Director of TBI Vietnam had a seminar on" Indigenous management of forests and agricultural fields in the Amazon" at Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF).

At the seminar, Prof. Rene Boot presented topics such as forests, livelihoods and food security; crop diversity and spatial distribution; Forest and agriculture - in collaboration with the land use management; agricultural policies; Consumption of fisheries resources, crop diversity and risk management; Climate change and its impact on forests; Landscape management: agroforestry in Amazon...
The seminar helped the lecturers and staff of HUAF gain information on the forest and agricultural conditions in the Columbia in generally so that they could compare the similarities and differences between researchers’ findings in particularly.

In addition, the seminar is considered as the regular activity between TBI and HUAF to confirm the linkage of information in research and training cooperation in the field of agriculture and forestry.

It is known that the university and TBI have been cooperating with each other since 2001.
