HUAF worked with Rajamangala Thayanburi University, Thailand

On July 5th, 2016, the delegation of the faculty of Home Economics Technology in Rajamangala Thayanburi University, Thailand consisted of 15 staffs and 20 students who paid a working visit to Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF), Vietnam. On behalf of HUAF, Assoc.Prof.Dr Phung Thang Long who is the Vice rector hosted the meeting.

The participants also comprised the leader of Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation along with leaders who come from faculties such as Faculty of Fisheries, Faculty of Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Food Technology, Faculty of Agricultural extension and rural development.

At present, the faculty of Home Economics Technology of Rajamangala Thayanburi University, Thailand includes 3 departments in which department of Textile and Clothing, Department of Food and Nutrition and Department of Home Economics Technology. The faculty’s missions are to train students as vocational education teachers, fashion designers, specialists in textile, clothing industry, nutritionists, stylists or freelance after they graduate from the university. To the department of Food and Nutrition, its aim is to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and operational practice in the fields of food and nutrition, ranging from the analytical process and research, to the food product development using the state-of-the-art technology.

As soon as two universities briefly introduced about their foundation, history, training programs, scientific research, and internationally cooperation, Assoc.Prof.Dr Phung Thang Long emphasized that HUAF has been cooperative  with famous Thai universities. Therefore, this is a good chance for the two universities to build up the international collaboration with each other in the framework of MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) such as students and staffs exchange program, scientific research exchange and publications.

Futhermore, leaders of the two universities hoped that they would discuss further in order to carry on signing MOU in the near future.

On this occasion, students of Rajamangala Thayanburi University, Thailand showed their handmade products to viewers to promote Thai traditional cultures as well as majors which they are studying at their university.
