Participants of the meeting also comprised Dr. Pham Huu Ty- Head of Department of Science, Technology and International Relations; Dr. Truong Quang Hoang - Director of Center for Rural Development in Central Vietnam, along with some staffs of the functional units.
Center for Rural Development in Central Vietnam (CRD) of HUAF along with University of Hannover, Germany, had the successful cooperation in a project “Impact of shocks on the vulnerability to poverty: consequences for the development of emerging Southeast Asian economies”, was conducted in 6 provinces in Thailand and Vietnam in the period of 2007 - 2013. Following this project, two universities are implementing long-term study programs on data collection and scientific analysis in three provinces of Vietnam, including Ha Tinh, Dak Lak and Thua Thien Hue, funded by University of Hannover, Germany, in order to strengthen the research on poverty dynamics and sustainable development.
At the meeting, leaders of two universities briefly presented about activities in which two sides have cooperated in the framework of the project from July, 2016 till now. The project has being conducted in 36 districts of three central provinces of Ha Tinh, Thua Thien Hue and Dak Lak. The meeting also came up with the issues should be clarified, such as data collection, training for investigators, interview, data cleansing, human resources for the project, financial management, equipment purchase. From there on, the two sides have taken the recommendations, requirements and appropriate solutions for the project.
The project will solve the matters in building the long-term and high-quality database of poverty dynamics and sustainable development; providing and sharing the database with research institutions and bodies of policy - planning. Furthermore, these solutions will bring in creating products of knowledge; and improve the research capacity of research institutions in Vietnam.
